Scott C. Olson, AAMS®, AIF®
Branch Manager - Private Wealth Manager
Scott provides a full range of products and services that can meet the unique financial goals of your family, business, or institution. Scott has a passion for helping small business owners with their personal and business retirement planning, but also concentrates on clients in transition – between jobs, preparing to enter retirement, or loss of a spouse. With a focus on education and taking the time to help clients understand ideas and investment vehicles thoroughly, widowed and divorced women find his approach particularly appealing.
Primarily serving clients in the greater Austin area, Scott shares his time between the Round Rock branch and Georgetown office locations. Scott joined the financial services industry in 2006, and moved to Upstream Investment Partners in January 2011, to realize his goal of better serving clients through an independent business platform. He provides a wide range of financial services with an emphasis on retirement accumulation and income planning, and protection planning including life insurance and long term care solutions.
A native of Minnesota, after stints in FL and WA, Scott relocated to Texas in August 2000. In November of 2001, after serving for 20 years, Scott retired from the Texas Army National Guard with rank of 1st Lieutenant. Scott held various leadership positions, over this time – from Stinger Platoon Leader, Armor Platoon Leader and Executive Officer, Aide-de-Camp for a Brigade Commander, to Public Affairs Officer. He was acting commander of his unit that was deployed to Kosovo from Dec 1999-Jul 2000.
Scott holds the Series 7 (General Securities License) and Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law) licenses in Texas, Florida, Minnesota and Wisconsin. He is also licensed and qualified in Accident and Health, Life Insurance, Variable Annuities, and Long Term Care Insurance through the states of Texas and Florida. Scott holds the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS) designation, from the College for Financial Planning.
Scott and his wife Luci live in Georgetown with their two children: Alexandria (Alex) and Victoria (Tori) Hansen.
